- Developing new type of filtered cathodic vacuum arc system, to grown different kind of carbon metal composite film, and control of metal cluster size by changing the deposition parameters
- Studying the effect of thermal and laser treatment on carbon metal composite, and the thermal, mechanical and electrical properties of the carbon metal composite film before and after treatment.

- structure evolution of amorphous carbon film upon annealing, used visible Raman and High resolution transmission electron microscopy to study the structure of the a-C film before and after annealing, and studied the field emission property of the laser annealed a-C film.

- CNT are self-growth in our lab using PECVD system and are realized on lithography patterned catalyst substrate
